Hello, my name is Azaria!
My photography journey has been a long one.
I’ve been doing photography ever since I can remember.
My Momma was always taking pictures of us growing up. She always said, “I’ll be too busy to remember this later on in life.” My family has countless photo books because of her love for pictures.
I loved photography from the time my Mother put a Kodak camera in my hands. It was the type of camera that you would have to wind up and click and could only fit twenty photos on before having to bring it into the store to get them developed.
I’d fill those cameras up fast!
It was no surprise that I’d always have something to take pictures of with three brothers and two sisters and us always being outside! The opportunities were endless.
My first real camera I got in 2006, it was a digital Lumix F Series with 8.1 megapixels and an optical zoom with a built in flash.
I’d fill the 2GB cards up fast. I didn’t just love taking pictures but I loved taking lots of them.
A few years later on my 13th birthday I got another camera, which was a Nikon Coolpix S9100. The Nikon camera could take video, and it had a touch screen, those were becoming the new big thing back in 2o10!
I used that camera for a photography class I had back in middle school.
I had that camera up until 2015. At that time I upgraded to a Canon Rebel XS SLR Digital Camera, with 10.1MP and an image stabilizer and a 18-55mm zoom range.
That Canon Rebel XS is where I learned the fundamentals of photography with a DLSR.
I had that one all the way up until November of 2018, at that point in my journey I had recognized someone in my life who had a love and eye for photography, so I passed my Rebel along to that person.
I knew I was going to have to upgrade or give it up because that camera was outdated but it was a stepping stone.
I missed taking pictures so much. I’d do it through my phone but it just wasn’t doing the beauty I was capturing justice.
But…. Was I willing to invest an immense amount into my craft? Yes. I couldn’t live without photography.
I took my time looking. I wanted a camera that could document my journey and the chapters of other’s lives around me.I researched it while renting and trying out equipment.
Then I tried the Sony A7R MARK III camera body
with a Sensor Resolution of 42.4 Megapixel, paired with the Sony FE 24-105mm F/4 G OSS lens.
The combination was crystal clear with 399 focus points in addition to shooting 4k video, the thing was fast at grasping details. I had found my Camera.
When it comes to what makes our hearts happy we can’t settle for anything less than we deserve.
I knew it was a leap I needed to take for something that brought myself and others joy.
I owed it to myself to not let go of this passion. I had to keep photography in my life to grow in it!
I will never stop chasing what makes my heart and soul feel alive!
